Steve
finished at the end of
2003 as Commercial Director
for Doncasters Paralloy
Ltd based in Billingham,
Teesside. Paralloy is
a centri-casting tube
foundry operating as the
petrochemical division
of Doncasters - a $700m
special alloys Group with
other Divisions in aerospace,
gas turbine, turbocharger
and medical. Steve was
appointed to re-establish
Paralloy as a major force
in the international petrochemical
furnace tube and coils
sector. To provide a professional
marketing approach targeting
on the correct markets,
customers, countries,
forecasting and industry
trends. Also to focus
on promotion of the groundbreaking
new PEP tube product. |
| Until
the end of 2001 Steve was
Sales Director, Europe &
Middle East for Endress
+ Hauser Systems & Gauging
Ltd (formerly the Whessoe
Varec Company) based in
Newton Aycliffe, Co Durham
and Manchester. Before that
he was the Sales Manager
for Elsag Bailey Systems
Division throughout their
various incarnations as
ICS Bailey Controls, Bailey
ICS, Bailey Automation and
finally ABB Automation,
since April 1989. Previously
he was an Account Executive
with Fisher Controls in
Leicester and he started
work with the CMI Electronics
Division of Elequip in 1982.
As
Oil & Gas Account
Manager during the period
1990-92, Steve was one
of Bailey’s most
successful salesman securing
over $50m of business.
Well known in the industry,
he spent the years 1993
to 1995 as Area Operations
Director in Abu Dhabi
UAE where he set up the
Bailey Middle East offices.
He has also been the Stand
Manager for the 1997 NEC
C&I Show and designed
the Elsag Bailey UK Web
Site in 1996.
After
successfully re-engineering
and relocating the systems
& gauging business
to the Endress + Hauser
main office in Manchester
during 2001, Steve left
Endress + Hauser at the
end of the 2001.
A leap
year baby born in 1960,
and originally from the
"sunny" seaside
resort of Torquay, Steve
was a keen sailor. He
went on to be educated
at the University of Bath
School of Chemical Engineering
and then spent 7 years
living and working in
Leicester. An avid Rugby
Union fan (Tigers, England
and the Lions) he also
occasionally tries his
hand at golf, off at least
a 28 handicap!
The Instrument-net
was founded in June 1996
and was a Companion Company
of the Institute of Measurement
& Control during 1997/1998.

the Instrument-net’s
popularity is continually
increasing and currently
attracts well over 3,000
different international
visitors every month.
